Clinical contacts and haemovigilance

Blood Service physicians support hospitals around the clock with issues related to transfusion medicine and immunological questions concerning tissue and organ transplants. Additionally, the Blood Safety Office at the Blood Service handles the investigation and monitoring of adverse reactions and safety incidents related to blood transfusion in Finland. The information gathered from these investigations is used to develop safe blood transfusion treatments.
