Clinical contacts and haemovigilance

We develop the functionality of the blood product supply chain and the safety of blood transfusions in close cooperation with healthcare professionals treating patients. Blood Service physicians support hospitals around the clock in matters related to blood, stem cell and organ transplants. We also closely monitor the adverse effects and hazardous situations related to blood transfusions that hospitals report to our Blood Safety Office.

In 2025, we organised 12 training events for our customers, and our experts gave more than 30 lectures at hospitals and healthcare educational institutions. A total of 17 network meetings were held.

Respondents to our customer survey considered the Blood Service to be a reliable and knowledgeable partner that develops its operations with customer needs in mind. The extended shelf life of platelet products facilitated inventory management at hospital blood centres and brought flexibility to ordering practices. Most respondents gave the reliability of the Blood Service’s products and services a perfect score (on a scale of 4–10), and the smoothness of cooperation was rated as excellent with a score of 9.7. We received particular praise for our support in problem situations and for our good and friendly service around the clock.
